NT Board of Studies Awards
These annual awards are held in Alice Springs and Darwin to recognise Territory students for their academic excellence and hard work in their final school years.

March

Battle of the School Bands
Middle and senior students from government and non-government schools compete in the Battle of the School Bands to win the opportunity to play alongside internationally renowned music acts at BASSINTHEGRASS.

ExitArt
Exit Art showcases artwork produced by Territory Year 12 visual art, craft and design students. The most outstanding works are selected for their excellence, innovation and creativity in a range of modes including painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, printmaking and digital presentations.

DET Career Adviser Seminar
The seminar provides useful career information for practising careers professionals, giving them the opportunity to learn more about what is on offer for their students once they have finished their studies and opportunity for professional development, networking and sharing of best practice ideas.

Try'a Trade
WorldSkills Northern Territory Try'a Trade enables Year 9 students to 'have-a-go' at various skill and trade occupations.

WorldSkills Northern Territory
WorldSkills competitions offer young Australians the chance to develop and improve their skills through challenging competitions, and to demonstrate the importance of pride, dignity and self esteem in each individuals work. Winners of the regional competitions can travel and compete at a national level.

National Literacy and Numeracy Week
NLNW promotes and celebrates literacy and numeracy in our schools and libraries. Through a range of activities and awards, teachers, students, individuals and the community showcase the importance of literacy and numeracy in our daily lives.

Careers Expo
Careers Expo offers career information and pathways advice to students. Exhibitors include Territory-wide and interstate employers, training providers, government departments and education organisations.

Chief Minister's Literacy Achievement Awards
The awards acknowledge the literacy achievement of students from Transition to Year 9 in Northern Territory schools. Awards will be presented at school end of year assemblies.

Northern Territory Training Awards
These annual awards honour the top apprentices, trainees, vocational students, Indigenous students, employers, schools, training providers and other people and organisations committed to training.

Beat Festival
The Beat Festival ‘Imagine’ is a showcase of excellence in performing arts in NT schools. The festival will run over three days (15-17 September 2011) at the Darwin Entertainment Centre. The Beat Foundation, with support from the NT Music School, is responsible for running the 2011 program.

Smart Schools Awards
The Smart Schools Awards celebrate excellence in education, showcasing the quality and achievements of government schools across the Territory.

NT DET Teaching and AITSL National Awards
The Teaching in the Territory Excellence Awards recognise excellence in achieving significantly improved outcomes for Territory students by outstanding government school teachers, teams principals, support staff and schools.

World Teachers' Day
On World Teachers' Day, Northern Territory students, parents, school staff and the wider community join forces to celebrate the efforts and achievements of Territory teachers.

Youth Business Awards
These awards recognise student achievements in the area of small business enterprise. The awards are open to all Northern Territory Certificate of Education  students.

Australian Training Awards
The Australian Training Awards are the peak, national awards for vocational education and training, recognising innovation and excellence in the training sector. These Awards are the culmination of state and territory awards with winners from each state and territory competing in the national finals.
