Education Week

31 August - 6 September 2009

Education Week is a time for people across the Northern Territory to celebrate teaching and learning in our schools.

Education Week includes:

  • National Literacy and Numeracy Week
NLNW promotes and celebrates literacy and numeracy in our schools and libraries. Through a range of activities and awards, teachers, students, individuals and the community showcase the importance of literacy and numeracy in our daily lives.
  • Chief Minister's Literacy Achievement Awards
The Chief Minister's Literacy Achievement Awards acknowledge the literacy achievement of students from Transition to Year 9 in Northern Territory schools. Awards will be presented at school end of year assemblies.
  • Adult Learners' Week
Adult Learners' Week (ALW) is an opportunity to celebrate, promote and advance all forms of adult learning and highlight its value to the Northern Territory community.

Schools will also conduct their own activities. Contact your school to find out what they have planned.
