Engaging with Asia Week

14-18 September 2009

Engaging with Asia Week encourages schools to acknowledge, celebrate and build on their links to Asian cultures and societies.

During Engage with Asia Week we would like to offer schools the opportunity to promote their Engage with Asia activities. If your school is offering an activity in the week of 14-18 September 2009 that shows an engagement with Asia, please complete the registration form (word 35 kb) and your event will be promoted on this website.

Asia related community events

There are a number of Asia related community events to enjoy in the Northern Territory in August and September 2009. 

Competitions

Northern Territory student competitions for each stage of schooling are being held, along with a teacher competition and an all ages photography and art competition. This year's topic for competitions is Rice.

Engage with Asia Week grants

These grants support schools in the incorporation of the studies of Asia into a unit of work. Funds may be used for resource attainment, resource development, establishment of links to Asian communities or the subsidising of cultural events and excursions related to a unit of work.
