Geographically remote students can learn in home and school settings through the Northern Territory Distance Learning Service.

Programs and initiatives to support the development of positive relationships between students, teachers, parents, the school and wider community.
Special education and disability
A range of support services are available for children with disabilities and additional learning needs. The Department of Education and Training provides support services, specialised equipment and resources and professional development activities for school staff.
Indigenous Students' Leadership and Mentorship Program (ISLMP)
The ISLMP initiative aims to improve leadership opportunities for Indigenous secondary students enrolled in government schools. Fifty Indigenous secondary students are supported and maintained by the program each year and are selected by their ability to display a strong commitment to learning and potential for achievement with valuable skills to offer his/her community.
