Enrolment and attendance statistics
Enrolments and attendance 2008-2009
Enrolment and attendance data is collected eight times per year in Week 4 and Week 8 of each term. Enrolment is the number of students enrolled on the Collection day. Attendance is the average student attendance over the four weeks preceding the Collection.
The data presented in the tables below compares the enrolment and attendance data collected in August 2009 (Collection 5) with the corresponding Collection 5 in 2008.
The data is grouped by geolocation as follows:
- Provincial - Darwin and Palmerston schools
- Remote - Alice Springs and Katherine schools
- Very remote - All other NT schools
School attendance rates during the school year may vary due to the transient movement of Indigenous populations, particularly in Very Remote locations.
These attendance figures include explained and unexplained absences. Explained absences include cultural events, illness, sorry business, community flooding etc.
