Exchange programs

Secondary student exchange programs

The secondary student exchange program is a reciprocal program: Northern Territory students attend high school and enrol in a full time school program in another country for a minimum of three months and students from other countries undertake study in the Northern Territory under similar conditions.
The objectives of the program are to:

  • provide educational enrichment for exchange students by developing their linguistic skills and introducing them to a different educational philosophy, environment and curriculum
  • develop cultural awareness and understanding among students in the school environment
  • promote international understanding and cooperation.
