Review into Extreme Student Behaviour
In 2011 there was a Review into Extreme Student Behaviour. The review was conducted by a group including Principals, Department staff and other key stakeholders.
The Terms of Reference were, to:
- examine the current policy guiding the management of extreme behaviour in schools
- examine how schools are currently working within the Northern Territory Safe Schools Framework
- examine the role and effectiveness of the current Positive Learning Centre (PLC) program in supporting students demonstrating extreme behaviours
- examine alternative options for dealing with very difficult/violent students.

The Department has accepted all 11 recommendations and is progressively implementing them.
