Numeracy resources

• Money Stuff - includes teacher notes and student activities linked to the Northern Territory Curriculum Framework.
• MakingCents - a series of financial education units for primary children covering Years K-6. It includes practical activities used to stimulate and engage students to help them understand financial concepts by using situations that relate to their everyday lives.

Literacy resources

• Listening games 1 (pdf 59 kb) / listening games 2 (pdf 66 kb) - language games for listening.
• Love and Reilly - useful for strategies and ideas for the teaching of oral language. The newsletter updates particularly have some great ideas.

Science resources

• Environorth: Living Sustainably in Australias Savannas - gives NT schools access to a comprehensive range of online educational resources focusing on the Top End environments. There are three key sections:
  • Learn Savannas - the interactive student modules
  • Teach Savannas - which includes curriculum links and teaching support materials for the modules
  • Savanna Windows - the resource section for student inquiry.
  Savanna Walkabout student module focuses on Top End biodiversity and aims to engage middle years learners in learning that fosters authentic, active and interactive experiences. Learners model authentic scientific inquiry by joining the researchers to investigate threats to biodiversity in Kakadu National Park. The module highlights the role of Western Science Knowledge and Indigenous Knowledge. Primary and middle years students can explore local food chains and food webs and get up close and personal with termites exploring how termites are the lifeblood of our tropical savanna ecosystem. Through engaging interactions students also investigate the impacts of fire, ferals and weeds on our savanna ecosystem.

• MindMatters - a mental health program essentially for secondary schools and is best used through a whole school approach. Outcomes and links with contact details
• Queensland Studies Authority - engage students in all Learning Areas for Years 1 to 10 (scroll down the page to Syllabus and Support Materials). Collection of case studies, guides, presentations and templates for classrooms and school communities for the Early Years of Schooling are also available on this website.
• Engaging with Asia - provides a range of lesson plans for Primary and Secondary students where engaging with Asia is the focus.
