Exchange programs
Teacher exchanges

The program operates within agreements between co-operating education authorities in:
- United Kingdom (including Northern Ireland)
- Canada (British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario, including the Northern Territories)
- USA (Colorado)
- New Zealand
- the Australian States of New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.

Secondary student exchange programs
The secondary student exchange program is a reciprocal program: Northern Territory students attend high school and enrol in a full time school program in another country for a minimum of three months and students from other countries undertake study in the Northern Territory under similar conditions.
The objectives of the program are to:
- provide educational enrichment for exchange students by developing their linguistic skills and introducing them to a different educational philosophy, environment and curriculum
- develop cultural awareness and understanding among students in the school environment
- promote international understanding and cooperation.
