Australian Vocational Education and Training Management Information Statistical Standard (AVETMISS)

Australian Vocational Education and Training Management Information Statistical Standard (AVETMISS) offers a nationally consistent standard for the collection and analysis of Vocational Education Training (VET) information throughout Australia. AVETMISS is the required standard for data to be received by the State Training Authorities. Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) receiving public funding for VET training delivery are required to submit to DET at least once (or based on the number of times stipulated in the contract between the organisation and DET) AVETMISS compliant data.

The AVETMISS standards provides RTOs with what information needs to be reported, in what file, in what format, and what national codes to use. A copy of the AVETMISS VET Provider Collection Specifications Release 6.0 detailing reporting requirements can be found on the NCVER’s website.
